Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Leia mobile application (“App”), developed and operated by Leia Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By downloading, installing, or using Leia, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service
1.1 What Leia Does
Leia is a pet health management application that allows you to:
- Create and manage profiles for your pets
- Track health records (vaccinations, deworming, weight, medical events)
- Set reminders for upcoming health events
- Store and view pet photos
- Sync data across devices via cloud storage
- Export health records as PDF
1.2 Service Availability
- The App is provided “as is” and “as available”
- We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible
2. Eligibility and Account
2.1 Age Requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- If you are between 13-18, you must have parental consent
- Parents/guardians are responsible for minors’ use of the App
2.2 Account Creation
- You must provide accurate and complete information
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
- Sharing accounts is prohibited
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
2.3 Account Termination
You may:
- Delete your account at any time from App settings
- Request account deletion via email to support@leialabs.io
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
- Abuse or misuse the service
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
3. Acceptable Use
3.1 Permitted Use
You may use Leia for:
- Managing your own pets’ health information
- Personal, non-commercial purposes
- Sharing pet health records with veterinarians or caregivers
3.2 Prohibited Use
You may NOT:
- Use the App for any illegal purpose
- Upload false, misleading, or inaccurate information
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the service
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Sell, rent, or transfer your account
- Use the App to provide veterinary medical advice to others
- Upload content that violates intellectual property rights
- Interfere with or disrupt the App’s functionality
3.3 Content Standards
Content you upload (pet photos, notes) must:
- Be appropriate for all audiences
- Not contain offensive, discriminatory, or hateful material
- Not violate any laws or third-party rights
- Not contain personal information of others without consent
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Our Rights
Leia Labs owns all rights to:
- The Leia App (code, design, features)
- Leia name, logo, and branding
- All content we create (UI text, graphics, icons)
- Documentation and promotional materials
License Grant to You: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on your personal devices
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
You may NOT:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works
- Distribute, sell, or sublicense the App
- Remove copyright or proprietary notices
- Use our trademarks without permission
4.2 Your Rights
You retain ownership of:
- Pet photos you upload
- Health records and notes you create
- Any other content you submit
License Grant to Us: By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store, process, and display your content to provide the service
- Create backup copies for data recovery
- Process data as described in our Privacy Policy
You can revoke this license by:
- Deleting the content from the App
- Deleting your account
4.3 Feedback
If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about Leia:
- We may use it without obligation to you
- You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable license to use such feedback
- No compensation is owed for feedback provided
5. User Data and Privacy
5.1 Data Collection
Our collection and use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

- We collect account info, pet data, and usage analytics
- We use Firebase for data storage and authentication
- We do NOT sell your data to third parties
- You can delete your data at any time

5.2 Data Backup
- You are responsible for backing up important data
- We make best efforts to maintain backups but do not guarantee data recovery
- Export your data regularly as PDF or via data export feature
5.3 Data Security
- We implement industry-standard security measures
- However, no system is 100% secure
- You use the App at your own risk
- Report security vulnerabilities to contact@leialabs.io
6. Medical Disclaimer
6.1 Not Medical Advice
IMPORTANT: Leia is a record-keeping tool, not a medical service.
- The App does NOT provide veterinary medical advice
- Information in the App is for organizational purposes only
- Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical decisions
- We are not responsible for health outcomes based on App use
6.2 Accuracy of Information
- You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter
- We do not verify medical information entered by users
- Consult your veterinarian if you have questions about pet health
6.3 Emergency Situations
- Do NOT rely on the App in emergency situations
- Contact your veterinarian or emergency animal hospital immediately
- The App is not a substitute for professional veterinary care
7. Disclaimers and Warranties
7.1 No Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy, reliability, or availability
- Freedom from errors, bugs, or viruses
7.2 Service Limitations
We do not warrant that:
- The App will meet your requirements
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Results obtained from the App will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors will be corrected
- Data will not be lost or corrupted
7.3 Third-Party Services
- We use Firebase and other third-party services
- We are not responsible for third-party service failures
- Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Exclusion of Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEIA LABS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Cost of substitute services
- Harm to pets or animals
- Veterinary bills or medical costs
- Business interruption
- Any damages arising from use or inability to use the App
8.2 Liability Cap
IF WE ARE FOUND LIABLE DESPITE THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED:
- The amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (currently $0 for free app), OR
- $100 USD, whichever is greater
8.3 Basis of the Bargain
You acknowledge that:
- We offer the App for free
- The limitations in this section are reasonable and fundamental to our agreement
- We would not provide the App without these limitations
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Leia Labs, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party rights
- Content you upload to the App
- Your negligence or willful misconduct
This indemnification survives termination of these Terms.
10. Modifications to Service and Terms
10.1 Changes to the App
We may:
- Add, modify, or remove features at any time
- Change how the App works
- Implement new technologies or redesigns
- Adjust free vs. premium features (if implemented in future)
We will notify you of material changes via:
- In-app notifications
- Email (if you provided one)
- Update to these Terms
10.2 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect:
- Changes in the App
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- Business practices
How we notify you:
- Updated “Last Updated” date at the top
- Prominent notice in the App for material changes
- Continued use after changes = acceptance
If you don’t agree:
- Stop using the App
- Delete your account
11. Payment and Subscriptions
11.1 Current Pricing
Leia is currently free to use.
- No subscription required
- No in-app purchases
- All features available at no cost
11.2 Future Pricing
We reserve the right to:
- Introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future
- Implement tiered pricing (free vs. premium)
- Charge for additional features or storage
If we introduce paid features:
- Current users will receive advance notice (at least 30 days)
- Free tier will continue to exist with core features
- You can choose to upgrade or continue with free tier
11.3 Refund Policy
If paid features are introduced:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law
- You may cancel subscriptions at any time
- Cancellation takes effect at end of billing period
- No refunds for partial months or unused time
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Using the “Delete Account” feature in App settings
- Emailing support@leialabs.io with subject “Account Deletion”
- Uninstalling the App (account will remain unless deleted)
Upon termination:
- Your data will be deleted within 30 days
- You will lose access to all features
- Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
12.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access if:
- You violate these Terms
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- You abuse the service or other users
- Required by law or legal process
- We discontinue the service entirely
We will provide notice when possible, except:
- In cases of legal requirement
- To prevent harm or abuse
- When account is involved in fraud
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the App ends immediately
- We may delete your data after 30 days
- Sections that should survive (liability, indemnification) remain in effect
- You remain liable for any breaches that occurred before termination
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Chile, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
13.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at contact@leialabs.io to resolve the dispute informally. We’ll attempt to resolve within 30 days.

Any disputes arising from these Terms may be resolved through:

For any disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Chile.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Leia Labs regarding the App.
14.2 Severability
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable:
- That provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary
- Remaining provisions remain in full effect
14.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.
14.4 Assignment
- You may not transfer or assign your rights under these Terms
- We may assign our rights to affiliates or successors without notice
14.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures due to causes beyond our reasonable control (natural disasters, war, pandemics, internet outages, etc.).
14.6 Survival
Provisions that should survive termination include:
- Intellectual property rights
- Disclaimers and limitations of liability
- Indemnification
- Dispute resolution
14.7 Language
These Terms are written in English and Spanish. In case of conflict, the English version prevails.
